Craft Time!

I took today and tomorrow off from work and Sammi and I made the most of it today. We ran some errands and finished up Christmas shopping (cutting it close I know, but as we were wrapping last night, I realized we missed a few people so out I go :)). But all is wrapped except for Bentley's gifts. Yes, our dog gets presents. He's a very good unwrapper! After we got home from running around, Sammi laid down for a little nap and then I got all the supplies ready to go for when she woke up.

Sammi did her first craft project and she had so much fun! Mommy put on some really old clothes knowing she would get all kinds of little hand prints and foot prints on her and stripped Sammi down to her diaper and away we went. She caught on quickly and did it all by herself. No paint in the hair and she only attempted to put her hand in her mouth once, but fast acting mommy was prepared and that was that. She was back to painting her piece of art work :)

Of course I had my camera with me. No camera's were harmed with the taking of these pictures. So enjoy the pictures, because she and I had a ball together :)

Oh...and bathtime came directly after the festivities...lol.

Sammi is blurry in this picture, but I love her smile. She looks so proud!

Concentrating and trying to pick out the perfect color :)
Visualizing on the paper :)

This is what fun looks like :)
This is my favorite picture. She was having so much fun at this point

Happy Holidays

'Tis the Season

to snow it seems like. Darn it. Only on the weekends please preferrably when I don't have to get out and about and I just sit and enjoy it with Ms. Sammi.

This last month or so I've been extremely busy. With work, photography still in gear, a mommy of a 9 month old, it just gets super crazy, super fast. It's hard a lot of times to just sit and relax. That is what the weekends are for I suppose, but not during the holiday season lol. It's go go go! Soon enough it will die down some, that would be awfully nice.

This past Friday, my little family was in an accident. Everyone is okay thank goodness, but it sure was awfully scary. I put it on my facebook, but as a mommy, you think about all the what ifs that could have happened. For you mommy's out there, we were t-boned and it was on the same side Matt and Sammi were on. Yeah. Use your imagination and then you know where I'm going with that. Awfully scary, but a lot to be thankful for. So for now, while we wait to hear back what the verdict is for my precious Liberty, I'm driving a rental and it's driving me crazy. It's a lot smaller than my vehicle so getting a 20+ lb baby in a carseat in and out of it every day, a couple days a week, isn't that fun. I'd like my SUV back please :) Not asking for much, just a bigger vehicle lol. But I'm very thankful for these two little blessings right now...

The first Monday back to work, it snows. Out of all times, are you serious? I cannot stand driving in the snow. Matt's a great snow driver so if we go anywhere, he drives. But oh no, I am going to work in a vehicle that doesn't have 4 wheel drive, with a 9 month old in the back after having a wreck a few days earlier. Guh. I know, you're thinking, Sandy it wasn't that much snow, but I saw white and it freaked me out a little ;) But, being the photo crazy mommy that I am, I had to take pictures of Sammi with her first snow! So I bundle her up before I take her over to my sisters in her snow suit that is too big for her, but super warm, and off we go for some snow pictures! Here is what I was able to capture:

"Mommy....really?"
"Humm....what's this stuff?"
"Mommy...again...seriously? You got me up for this?"

It was quite comical because in her snow suit, I couldn't let her sit on her own because she would fall backwards lol. She reminded me of the boy in The Christmas Story. It was too cute. But we were able to get pictures none the less!

I am in the process of finishing up my photograpy for the season. I was asked to take the Cheerleaders pictures so that should be fun! I am doing that this weekend and a little bit of next weekend. We are doing some pictures outside for a different effect, but they will be in their warmups, but this woman will be in layers :) It should be a lot of fun though, taking pictures of girls that obviously love to smile...how can I go wrong??? :)

I do have a blog up for my photograpy now. It's: http://sandyclarkephotography.blogspot.com/ I don't have all the sessions on there because I'm just starting up the blog, but I wanted to get enough pictures up before I started a blog. I didn't want it to be bare and all that business. So enjoy. I have a ways to go, but I have fun doing it :)

Have a great day everyone and be sure to bundle up out there and BE SAFE!

Meet Sammi.

Today was Sammi's 9 month check up
Our precious little 4 lb 15 oz, 17 inches long baby girl is now 19 lbs 10 oz and 28 1/2 inches long!!!! She's in the 75th percentile in everything and the doctor said she was doing great!

It's so hard to imagine that in less than 3 months, she will be a year old. Makes me so sad...where did our little girl go. Always be our little girl...just not 4 lb 15 oz :)

Thanksgiving pictures

Sammi's first Thanksgiving. It was wonderful. First we went over to Matt's mom and dad's house and celebrated and then headed over to my sisters house to celebrate my side of the family. This blog is probably going to be picture overload, so just be prepared. Good times were had by all and it was just enjoyable to sit around and visit with family.

Let the pictures begin...

Hope everyone had a great Thanksgiving!

She survived....

Black Friday! Mom and I took off for Walmart once Sammi (and mommy...and mamaw for that matter) got up and she had her breakfast. We got there around 8:30 with Sammi still in her jammies....and I plan on doing this every year! It was so much better than fighting the crowd and I still got everything I wanted to get! It was beautiful! And then afterwards, we went over to Kohls in Vincennes and came out and no longer had room in our vehicle so we headed home :) Good day! Got a lot of deals and had fun doing it! Sammi slept through most of Kohls and when she woke up she was so much fun! Everyone ooowing and aaahing over her. The girl behind us in line said she had an 18 month old and when she was 9 months there was no way she'd ever behave this good. I'll take that as a compliment, thank you!

So yes....Black Friday....we survived! :)
